What is the best airport to reach Glasgow?

Glasgow International Airport is the closest airport to town. However, Edinburgh Airport is also very close.

How do I go to town from the airport?

• If you fly to Glasgow Airport, you can take either the taxi (the airport's cab or the private ones, which are discussed at the following point) or the bus (Glasgow Airport Express).
• If you decide to take the private taxi from Glasgow Airport, you must call it (or book it using the app, available for Android and iPhone) and wait for it at Car Park 2, located opposite the airport exit. Consider that the taxi from the airport to town will be approximately £20.
• If you fly to Edinburgh Airport, the easiest way is to take the bus to Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station (Citylink Air), which will bring you to Glasgow city centre.

How can I go around Glasgow?

• By bus: First Group, McGill's. The bus tickets can be purchased directly on the bus. Please be aware that on the First buses you will need the exact change. Otherwise, you can pay by (contactless) card.
• By subway: SPT. The tickets for the subway can be purchased at each subway station. Please note that there is the possibility of a daily ticket, if you plan to use the subway twice or more on the same day.
• By taxi: Glasgow Taxis (0141 429 7070), West End Radio Cars (0141 954 2000), Network Private Hire (0141 557 1110), Uber
• By train: Partick is the train station in the West End of Glasgow and it has frequent trains to the two main train stations in the city centre of Glasgow, which are Glasgow Central Station and Glasgow Queen Street Station. Do you have any suggestion for what concerns the accommodation?

The wedding takes place in the West End area of Glasgow. As such, any hotel/B&B in the neighbourhood of Byres Road will be at walking distance to the wedding venue. Please do not hesitate to ask us if you want any help with what concerns the accommodation.

Do I have to pay for my drinks during the reception?

The drinks during the meal, as well as the toast, are included.

Alas, you do have to pay for your own drinks during the evening at the bar. Both cash and cards will be accepted. Please remember to bring ID with you as you might be asked for proof of age (if you're lucky enough to look less than 25 :P )

I understand you guys like Ceilidh but I am definitely not a great dancer.

That's not at issue at all! Ceilidh is meant to be fun and you don't have to know the steps. There will be a caller who will explain all the steps before every dance.

As we like to say, Ceilidh is the dance for engineers, no hips moving around nor fancy dance moves. So, don't worry and have lots of fun! (You will have to dance at least once, better you are prepared for it! ;) )
